Warrior's Tomb

Depicting a man in full armour, this tomb dates to the early sixteenth century and has been the subject of much
antiquarian interest. A side panel, now removed, bears the coat of arms of the Butler family. Once one of Ireland’s most politically important families, the Butlers of Ormond se led in Ireland a er the Norman Invasion and built Kilkenny Castle and Ormond Castle in County Tipperary.
