Anne Lanphier

The daughter of Simon Lanphier, a prominent Waterford physician, Anne died of fever in January 1836. Like many women in the nineteenth century, she worked tirelessly within the community. She was a much-loved Sunday School teacher for eleven years, and her pupils and other teachers felt her loss so keenly that they erected this, undoubtedly expensive, monument to her memory.
